SILIKEN CHEMICALS is a subsidiary company of SILIKEN S.A. (a Spanish company dedicated to renewable energy). The company focuses on the production, sales and distribution of trichlorosilane (the main chemical compound for the production of silicon for the electronic and solar grade industry) and polycrystalline silicon (raw material in the solar industry for the production of solar cells).
SILIKEN CHEMICALS was founded in 2006 as a branch of SILIKEN S.A., aiming to:
- Cover the whole value chain in the solar industry.
- Provide SILIKEN customers and partners with best quality polycrystalline silicon (polysilicon) as well as trichlorosilane for customers that are not fully integrated in the polysilicon production process.
Since its conception, a working team combining skilled, young engineers and professionals with more than 20 years of experience in the chemical industry, developed and designed the first phase of a Trichlorosilane and Polysilicon Plant for Siliken Chemicals. By the end of 2008, this was the first operative plant in Spain. It is located in Casas Ibañez, Albacete. The final design and engineering of the plant has allowed SILIKEN CHEMICALS to achieve high production flexibility levels as well as excellent opportunities to rapidly increase its capacity and to adapt to market demand.
As a subsidiary company of SILIKEN S.A., and benefiting from the rest of the subsidiaries belonging to the SILIKEN Group, SILIKEN CHEMICALS constantly and rapidly adjusts to the trends and changes that occur in the solar business. This feedback allows SILIKEN CHEMICALS to maintain the highest quality and safety standards and the flexibility and capacity to adapt to customer needs. It renders the company cost-effective in comparison to other players in the polysilicon market and enables us to offer the best service to our customers.
